Screwfix Opens Latest 'City' New Format Store
Screwfix, has announced the opening of their latest new store format, Screwfix City.
The new format offers even greater convenience to London’s busy tradespeople. Screwfix City stores are based in high footfall areas and provide the essential products customers need to get their jobs done. City stores offer a range of more than 3,000 essential products via Click and Collect with a further 31,000 available online for next day collection.
Following initial tests of the ultra-compact stores, Screwfix has recently opened a further six City stores across London, including in Islington, Camden, Dulwich and more. Screwfix plans to have up to 20 in total by the end of 2024, including the first stores in cities outside of London, and aims to open up to 100 over the next few years.
Screwfix Sprint, the rapid delivery service that provides products on site or at home in 60 minutes or less, is also available from City stores and the retailer is also seeing a demand from customers utilising the award-winning service from these locations too.
Screwfix UK and ROI Managing Director Max Britten said: “Our Screwfix City stores are enabling us to go even further to meet the needs of our customers. We know how busy our customers are, and we understand the challenges they face in cities, such as getting a parking space on the job or having to down tools for an emergency product only to spend time stuck in traffic. With our Screwfix City stores, we’ve been able to launch an exciting new format that works in different locations to our traditional stores. We’re planning to open up to 100 over the next few years in London and other cities, providing our customers with the ultimate convenience that keeps them on the job and earning.”
