Plymouth B&Q to close
One of Plymouth’s B&Q stores is to close in early 2017, it has been announced.
The Plympton store is one of 60 to close across the UK and Ireland by January 2017, following the decision taken by parent company Kingfisher's new CEO, Veronique Laury, to streamline operations and organise the business differently in order to unlock its potential.
A B&Q spokesperson said: "We can confirm that our staff at B&Q Plympton have been told that their store is planned for closure in early 2017.
"We will endeavour to find alternative positions for as many staff as possible."
B&Q has yet to respond to local press when asked about the future of the Crownhill B&Q branch, also in Plymouth.
