Kingfisher Appoints Nils Swolkien As Castorama Poland CEO

Kingfisher plc, the international home improvement company, today announced the appointment of Nils Swolkien as CEO of Castorama Poland from 1^st September.

Nils brings extensive retail experience, having most recently served as CEO of Decathlon Poland. He has held a number of senior leadership roles at Decathlon over two decades across both Europe and Asia, including CEO of Decathlon Bulgaria, Managing Director of Decathlon Singapore and senior finance positions in Decathlon Asia and Decathlon Europe. 

Thierry Garnier, Kingfisher CEO, said: “Nils’ proven track record and experience across diverse markets will be a great asset to us, as we look to build on our success in Poland by continuing to grow market share, open new stores and expand our successful marketplace model to our Polish customers. Nils will join Kingfisher’s Group Executive and will be based at Castorama Poland’s head office in Warsaw. He speaks Polish, English and French.
