Bunnings To Close Morley Branch
Bunnings has confirmed that its Morley, Perth, store is to close next year.
The lease on the store expires in June 2020 but the store will close in on 13th April.
The Morely store, located on Russell Street, was originally slated to close in 2018, following the opening of the nearby Bayswater store which is less than five miles away. Bunnings decided to keep the Morley store open after its Inglewood store was destroyed by fire in June 2018.
Bunnings is understood to have wanted to add automotive and marine-related sales to the store but Bayswater Council would not grant the required consents.
Hayley Coulson, Regional Operations Manager for Bunnings, said: “All of the current Morley team members will transfer to alternative stores and our focus is on working with them throughout this transition,”
“The Bunnings Morley team has done a great job serving local customers over the past two decades.
“When the Inglewood store was destroyed by fire early last year, the team really pulled together.
“We’re really proud of everything they have done."
