Bunnings Explores Israeli Innovation

Bunnings St Albans - Press Release 725 x 500.jpg

The Australian reports that a delegation of nine senior staff from Bunnings recently travelled to Israel to explore possibilities of working with technology companies in the region.

The Bunnings team met with over 20 companies during its July trip, which followed a visit to Germany by the Wesfarmers board and the CEO of Bunnings, Michael Schneider.

Michael Schneider said: “We have been meeting smart people doing very cool stuff, who remain modest,”

He told the press that the “absence of ego” makes Israel very different to Silicon Valley and said that exploring Israeli innovation will help bring about real changes for the upcoming Bunnings ecommerce website. Schneider said, "We probably came here with a customer mindset but now have a ‘whole business’ focus.”

Leah Balter, Director Digital & Analytics at Bunnings, said, "There’s just so much customisation that is possible which goes far beyond what we have at the moment,” adding that the meetings had raised "almost too many good opportunities”.
