Tile Mountain opens new HQ & distribution centre
Last week saw the official opening of Tile Mountain’s new £10m purpose built head office and distribution centre in Tunstall, Stoke –on-Trent. The ribbon cutting ceremony was conducted by Peter Coates, Chairman of Stoke City Football Club and attended by eighty guests including representatives from local businesses, the Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Stoke City Council, and the Chambers of Commerce.
Tile Mountain’s new purpose built facility is set in a previously derelict five acre site and comprises a warehouse and office block of 109,000 sq ft, and a 7,500sq ft showroom with a 2,000 sq ft mezzanine. In addition to providing the much needed new facilities the move will also enable the creation of a further seventy plus jobs over the next three years.
Opening the ceremony Jeremy Harris, Managing Director, Tile Mountain said:
“This is a momentous occasion in the history of the firm and the opening of this new, state of the art facility is a statement of our ambitions as a company. The phenomenal growth Tile Mountain has experienced since its inception saw it quickly outgrew the old site, meaning that a new distribution hub and administrative nerve centre was required.”
“Just over a year after the initial plans were submitted and we’re here. It’s a fantastic building - we’ve committed to create 70 jobs at this site over the next three years and believe that the complex is a fitting home to both the Tile Mountain brand and its expanding workforce.”
Concluding the event Mo Iqbal, Chairman of Tile Mountain commented:
“Tile Mountain has been a labour of love for those behind the venture and today really is the culmination of years of hard work. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve been able to achieve in the four years we’ve been trading and the fact that we’ve been able to invest £10m in this 120,000 sq ft warehouse, showroom, and office complex is testament to the incredible growth we’ve enjoyed.”
“It’s great to see a brownfield site such as this rejuvenated and we’re confident our presence will prove a catalyst to further regeneration, not just in the Ceramics Valley Enterprise Zone but in Stoke-on-Trent as a whole.”
