Rothley Explores Upcycling Trend With Launch Of RUK Profiles & Sheets

Rothley

With three lockdowns encouraging a boom in DIY and decorating, many are still on the hunt for more ways to refresh their homes on a budget. Bloggers and interior influencers social media channels are full to the brim with “hacks” and reels of “how to” content, aimed at helping their growing audience get a high-end luxury look without the high-end price tag. One of the ways people are being encouraged to get around these overhead costs is to upcycle old items rather than replacing them completely. This not only saves money but also saves more waste heading to landfill.

Rothley have been exploring this new trend for upcycling with the launch of their new range of profiles and sheets, RUK. Profiles and sheets could be seen as a forgotten category, only available in silver aluminium or white PVC. Seeing the potential for such an item to create the finishing touch to an item of furniture or upcycling project, Rothley gave them the Baroque colour range treatment. Their selection includes rose gold, antique copper, antique brass, ice silver, matt black, light/dark granite and light/dark marble. Their PVC profiles are also produced with a calcium content, reducing the amount of plastic needed, making them mimic the look and feel of stone worktops or floor tiles.

Colour matching, especially in kitchens, has long been the bane of the diy’ers life. Stores have little to show for the interior’s trends of patinaed brass and copper or matt black. Instead, they are greeted with an endless sea of chrome and gloss white. RUK’s profiles and sheets are a great way of tying together colour accents within the home without having to spend a fortune on replacing furniture or decor.

Rothley have colour matched their RUK profiles to their utensil rails and London brackets to make it easy to create a seamless capsule collection for your kitchen. Their edging trims can help tie together cupboards and worktops with other chosen accessories.

Simon Cox, Sales and Marketing Manager said “with the increased need for colour matching, we saw a unique opportunity to include our sheets and profiles in our Baroque colour range. No longer are these products solely being used in the trade sector. Homeowners are turning to them to complete upcycling projects inspired by what they consume on social media. We can also offer improved POS for stores to bring this once forgotten sector to life for a new audience”.
