Martin Keown kicks off events at B&Q's first 'City Store'
On Friday 10 March, leading home improvement retailer B&Q opened its first High Street store in Central London at 482 Holloway Road.
To celebrate the brand new store, Arsenal legend and football pundit Martin Keown took part in an official ribbon cutting ceremony and met with fans and customers - he was also joined by Graton Primary School’s choir who performed during the opening ceremony.
Martin Keown, the ex-Arsenal defender said: “B&Q’s timing is absolutely perfect – some might say Arsenal are in need of a bit of a fix up right now, so it’s great to have a local High Street DIY store so close to the Stadium.”
Andy Williams, Unit Manager at B&Q Holloway Road, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be bringing B&Q to Holloway Road’s high street. Our launch week is set to be great fun and we are delighted to have Martin Keown officially open the store. The events are a great chance for us to welcome the local community in to the store and share our team’s expertise and ideas.”
The fun will continue through to Saturday 11th March as B&Q’s newest store hosts a day of family fun, including balloon modelling, face painting and prize giveaways. Families can take part in the fun and if parents are planning any DIY projects, they’ll also be able to look around the new store and talk to the knowledgeable B&Q experts for advice.
