Leroy Merlin has opened a store dedicated to gardens in the Elmas area of Cagliari, in the south of Sardinia.

In October 2022, the company announced its intention to open the new format store, which is close to the city and sits alongside a Tecnomat DIY store, another Groupe Adeo brand.

The store is managed by Catalina Natalia Tapuc and deputy manager Stefano Porceddu. It comprises of 2,000 mof internal space and 1,000 moutside, with a further 1,700 mof stockroom space.  Fifty people are employed by the store, half of which are women, and 49 are from

There are four main sections within the store: Inspiration and Decoration, Technology, Projects and Design, and Online.

Natalia Tapuc told DIY&Garden.com: "The garden has always been for Leroy Merlin one of the sectors that most excite customers. This consideration gave rise to the idea of proposing a format dedicated to the garden , a place to find a complete offer to respond to every request relating to outdoor living. It is the first time that we have tested a store with these characteristics and we are very happy to do so in Sardinia, a region that we think can, more than others, appreciate such a vertical proposal and with which we hope to be able to establish a strong bond. The store team, entirely Sardinian, is our added value: they are prepared to assist customers and propose the most suitable solutions to make the green spaces of each home more beautiful and welcoming".
