Five new Bunnings locations revealed
News is coming into the Insight DIY offices from sources all over the country regarding Homebase stores that are closing prior to conversion into shiny new Bunnings stores.
Confirmed by Bunnings HQ today, is Bicester, the first of a new format of smaller conversions. The store is around half the size of the first St.Albans store that opened in February and will be re-branded Bunnings and not Bunnings Warehouse. If Bunnings move beyond the pilot phase, we believe this may be the template for future, smaller Homebase store conversions, which make up a large proportion of the remaining 240+ Homebase stores.
It's understood, all categories will be represented, however, some stores won't have cafe's and childrens play areas, as selling space is maximised.
Also confirmed are Walthamstow, Newmarket, High Wycombe and Hanworth, where the store closure signs went up in the last few days. Thanks to Sally Kerr of Selco for the image.
The updated position is now as follows:-
