Brico Dépôt To Finance Energy Audit For Customers
- Brico Dépôt becomes the first DIY brand in France to finance energy audit for customers
As a low-cost brand, for nearly 30 years Brico Dépôt has been committed to offering its customers quality products at the best price and in construction site quantity. While cost-of-living continues to rise, Brico Dépôt has gone further so that people in France can continue their home improvement project and will offer to finance the energy audit of its customers.
First DIY brand to finance the energy audit
An essential diagnostic tool, carried out by a qualified professional, the energy audit provides recommendations for ways to significantly improve the energy efficiency of a home. From 1 April 2023, this audit becomes mandatory in the event of the sale of a home whose energy performance diagnosis (DPE) is class F or G.[1] To help, Brico Dépôt will finance 100% of it for its loyalty card holder customers as soon as [2] they carry out energy renovation work with Ynergie, partner of the brand and delegate CEE.[3]
Brico Depot is the first DIY retailer in France to offer this service, with customers able to access the financing offer from 24th October up to 31st January 2023. As part of the work carried out with Ynergie, the customer will benefit from support throughout their project, from initial advice to the agreement of work, including financing, calculation of aid (the audit being eligible for Ma Prime Rénov') and management or control of expenses.
"We have noticed that many of our customers are often hesitant to embark on a project due to lack of knowledge, assistance or advice. With Ynergie, we believe this service is a real facilitator. Simplicity, quality and accessibility are part of our DNA, and by financing the energy audit, we aim to make the energy renovation of a home a simple, human and efficient experience," says Peggy Sadier, Director of E-Commerce and Customer Experience at Brico Dépôt.
The full financing of the energy audit is part of a range of initiatives already deployed by Brico Dépôt to help customers make their homes more energy efficiency. The brand has always offered products that help its customers to save energy, including insulation, however, in anticipation of the rising cost of energy, the brand expanded its range of energy efficiency products, including glass wool insulation, wood stoves pellets and windows. These products will help people in France in make a double saving:
- At checkout: with low prices.
- Investment: with products that save energy
Brico Dépôt, helping people in France through the cost-of-living crisis
The current rise in the cost-of-living makes Brico Depot's support even more important based on the strength of a proven model: essential products at low prices and in "site" quantity without compromising on quality, exclusive own brands and a commercial dynamic including arrivals. Today, the brand is accelerating the modernisation of its customer experience, by capitalising on expert and committed teams, both at headquarters and in the warehouse.
"I am convinced that during economically challenging times, such as the one we are currently experiencing, our position as a discounter can make an even bigger difference to our customers. For Brico Dépôt, guaranteeing competitive prices is not just a slogan, it is above all promise made by us to our customers. And we are determined to keep our promise by launching initiatives such as financing the energy audit or reimbursing twice the difference if our customers find a product cheaper elsewhere," adds Laurent Vittoz, Brand Director of Brico Dépôt.
