Brian Linnington To Retire From Topps Tiles

Brian Linnington Topps Tiles

Topps Tiles has announced on its LinkedIn page that Brian Linnington, Managing Director, Commercial, is to take early retirement.  The announcement follows:

"After 10 years with Topps Tiles PLC, Brian Linnington has made the decision to take early retirement and, in his words, ‘have one last go at getting that golf handicap down before I’m too old!’

Brian joined as Commercial Director, responsible for Buying, Merchandising, Stock and Marketing. 4 years ago Brian embarked on setting up the Commercial Sales Division. After two acquisitions (Parkside and Strata), the Brexit change and a global pandemic we now have a fast-growing commercial sales business that is ready for Dan Little to take the reins.

Dan has been working for the last year as Deputy MD Commercial. Dan was previously Director of Property, and this internal succession emphasises Topps commitment to developing its people through to senior management. Dan will lead a Commercial business in good growth, despite the challenging UK construction markets, a business with strong service and environmental credentials and a business that aims to be No.1 in its market.

Brian Linnington said “It’s been an absolute pleasure to work for Topps and I’m sad to be leaving such a great team, Topps really is a great place to work. I’m especially proud of the Commercial team (Parkside and Strata) and the great progress we have made in such a short time. I know the business will be taken to new heights by Dan and I wish him success in the role”

Dan Little said “We are extremely grateful for all Brian’s efforts in successfully growing the Commercial Division from a relatively standing start to now turning over circa £9m in sales and being the fifth biggest in the commercial tile specification market. Thanks to the gains we have made in disrupting the market, we are well placed to go on to achieve our goal of being the market leader. I would like to personally thank Brian for his support and leadership. I believe the culture of our people and our journey to environmental leadership in our sector sets us apart and am hugely honoured to taking over this exciting next chapter of leading our Commercial business.”

We wish both Brian and Dan the best in their new adventures!"
