The Range to Open New Store in Devon

The Range is to open a new store in Devon later this year.

The new store is to open in Devonshire Retail Park, on the outskirts of Paignton, on Friday 27th September.

Eighty new full and part-time jobs will be created at the store, which The Range said, "...is expected to be a fantastic boost to the local economy."

A spokesperson for The Range said: "The sudden growth of The Range, given the current economic challenges faced by the retail sector, is a mark of the entrepreneurial leadership of Plymouth-based owner and founder of the firm, Chris Dawson.

"He began life as a market stall trader across the South West of England before opening his first store in 1989 in Plymouth, under the name CDS (Chris Dawson Superstores) and has grown the company at an impressive rate since."

The new Paignton store will offer goods across 16 departments including Arts & Crafts, Home Interiors and DIY departments.  The store will also feature an Iceland Foods, a café, a large furniture department and an outdoor garden centre.

The Range recently opened a new store in Yeovil on the site of a former Homebase store and, in February, opened a flagship store next to its new head office in Plymouth.
