The Range is to set to expand its store network in Scotland with a new store in Inverness.

The new store will open within the former Homebase unit on the Inverness Retail and Business Park, creating approximately 80 full- and part-time jobs for local people.

Founder and owner of The Range, Chris Dawson, said of the news: “Opening a new store is always an exciting moment for the company and Inverness is no exception.

“The job provision that comes with the new store should be a great boost to the local area.”

The store will offer a wide range of goods over sixteen departments and will also feature a café and outdoor garden centre.

Inverness was one of the first 42 Homebase stores earmarked for closure as a result of the DIY retailer's decision to undertake a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) in August 2018

The new store was originally due to open on the 12th July but the opening date has been brought forward by a week, to 5th July.
