The Range to move in to former ASDA Living store in Altrincham
Homeware chain The Range is to open its new store in Altrincham Retail Park on Friday November 20th.
The two-floor store will bring around 80 jobs to the area and is located in the unit formerly occupied by Asda Living.
The retailer says the project to “transform the current site into a modern superstore” is nearly complete. We revealed in September how it had taken on the lease for the 39,543 sq ft store, which was marketed at an annual rent of £400,000.
The new store will feature 16 departments including a Christmas shop, outdoor garden centre and friendly family café.
Other departments are likely to include furniture, bedding, DIY, pet products, kitchens and bathrooms.
The new branch will be opened by billionaire owner Chris Dawson, alongside the Mayor of Trafford, Councillor John Holden.
Dawson is spearheading a rapid expansion at the chain, which now has over 100 stores across the UK and turned over £470m in the 12 months to January 2014, the most recent available figures.
He said: “The Altrincham store comes at an exciting time of expansion for the company, with plans for three other new stores to open before Christmas and many more into 2016.
“I am certain that the new store in Altrincham will be a welcome addition to the area and look forward to inviting the local community down to celebrate the opening.”
A team from Key 103 will be running an in-store competition in-store on the opening morning, with £250 in store vouchers up for grabs. There will also be giveaways to the first 50 people in the queue.
