The Range Announces Homebase Store Conversion Plans

• Homebase stores in Birmingham, Christchurch and Glasgow will become The Range Superstores, with Homebase Garden Centres, and launch in January 2025
• Rollout of further transformations of former Homebase stores 

CDS Superstores, parent company of The Range and wilko, has revealed the opening date and location of its first three new-format stores following its acquisition of the Homebase brand and up to 70 stores.

These stores, located in Pollokshaws, Glasgow; Christchurch, Bournemouth; and Kings Heath, Birmingham, will open their doors on 17th January 2025 at 9am.

Each of these new-format locations will be rebranded as The Range Superstores, combining the exceptional product variety The Range is known for with the home improvement expertise of Homebase and feature ‘Garden Centres by Homebase’.

Following these initial launches, CDS plans to roll out up to 10 new superstores per month, with a goal of transforming up to 70 Homebase locations into this new format, and securing up to 1,600 jobs, throughout 2025.

The Homebase website will remain transactional under the management of the Joint Administrators until it is handed over to CDS in early 2025.  CDS is currently investing in a new website which will be immediately relaunched with thousands of Homebase-specific home improvement products set to be available for immediate and easy purchase by consumers nationwide. 

Additionally, selected stores will feature ‘Kitchens by Homebase’, offering customers bespoke kitchen solutions - other exciting developments and partnerships will follow.
