The Range replaces another Homebase store
Loughborough will have a new addition to its retail store offerings when The Range opens on Friday, May 8.
Organisers of the opening day are currently planning for owner and founder of The Range, Chris Dawson to land at Robert Bakewell Primary School in his helicopter on the morning of the opening, but this will depend on the weather and has not yet been confirmed.
The Range, which replaces the town’s Homebase store, in Willowbrook Park, Derby Road, will open its doors at 9am with special gifts for the first 50 through the shop.
It will be opened by special guests Mayor of Charnwood, Coun Paul Day and the Mayoress, Pauline Day.
Chris Dawson, the owner of The Range, will also be there to open the store.
The Range will be offering Kilner style handled glass jars to the first 50 lucky winners in the queue (one per household).
A spokesperson said The Range was also thrilled to announce that their own mascot, Captain Range, will be attending to provide balloons and entertainment for the young and young at heart.
Chris Dawson said: “We are always excited about opening new stores and Loughborough is no exception.
“The new store will create around 100 jobs; from sales assistants to store managers and we hope to be an integral part of the community. Loughborough is the perfect location for The Range and we look forward to inviting the local community down to experience the opening day.”
