The Range Opens New Yeovil Store on Former Homebase Site
The Range has opened in a former Homebase store in Yeovil, creating 107 new jobs for local people.
On Friday 12th July at 9am, the store opened to a queue of people who had been waiting to see the new-look site and meet former British motocross champion Bryan Goss and the mayor of Yeovil, David Recardo.
Inside the store are sixteen different sections, as well as an outdoor garden centre and a branch of frozen food retailer, Iceland.
The Range confirmed the opening date in April 2019, with Chris Dawson stating: “Opening a new store is always an exciting moment for the company and Yeovil is no exception. The job provision that comes with the new store should be a great boost to the local area."
General Manager of The Range, Rob Prowton, told local press: "We're totally mad. The whole concept of The Range is really what Yeovil needs in a really big way and the store is amazing.
"It looks fantastic and we should really be able to give our customers The Range experience through and through.
"We've been in the building for a couple of weeks now and we've had people coming in, people coming to the door who are excited and can't believe what we're doing.
"The whole thing is good for the retail park, and now we are here, Houndstone is back on the map."
The new Yeovil store is one of seven planned openings in former Homebase stores this year.
