The Range climbs up list of UK's largest private firms
The Range, owned by entrepreneur Chris Dawson and his wife has climbed ten places up the list of Britain's largest privately owned companies, after growing its turnover by more than £100m in the last year.
The Plymouth based home and garden store chain has increased sales by 15% in the last 12 months to £761m, with profits of £88m and finished at No.80 in the Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 100 table. It was back in 2016, The Range first entered the table at No.90 and this years league table will be published in this weekends Sunday Times.

In recent months, The Range has also opened it's new, purpose built distribution centre, at Avonmouth near Bristol, at a cost of over £100m. The new facility, 14 times the size of Wembley Stadium, has created 1,000 jobs.
The Range now employs a total of 9,500 people, has 140 stores and plans to open another 30 in 2017.
