The Range Brings Opening Date of New Inverness Superstore Forward

Following last week’s announcement that The Range in Inverness would be opening in July, the home leisure and gardens retailer is delighted to confirm that the brand new superstore in the town is now going to be opening earlier than expected.

The new branch of The Range at Inverness Retail Park will now open on Friday 5th July at 9am.

The new store in Inverness will create 80 full and part-time jobs, from store to department managers and warehouse assistants to retail administrators. This is expected to be a fantastic boost to the local economy and is sure to be a positive addition to the area.

The development works to transform the former Homebase site into a Range Superstore are well underway in preparation for the Grand Opening at the beginning of July. The Range is continuing to embark on an exciting development strategy that sees the UK retailer now operating 170 stores across the UK and Ireland.

The sudden growth of The Range, given the current economic challenges faced by the retail sector, is a mark of the entrepreneurial leadership of Plymouth-based owner and founder of the firm, Chris Dawson.

He began life as a market stall trader across the South West of England before opening his first store in 1989 in Plymouth, under the name CDS (Chris Dawson Superstores) and has grown the company at an impressive rate since.

The retailer is recognised for offering high quality products across 18 departments, all at great prices.

The new store in Inverness will provide products across Arts & Crafts, Home Interiors and DIY departments. The store will also have a Family café and a large outdoor garden centre.

Chris Dawson commented on the upcoming opening: “We’re really pleased that we can open the Inverness store ahead of when we had originally planned. The new earlier opening date means the local community will have to wait less time to explore their brand new superstore”.
