Scunthorpe: From Homebase to Home Bargains
Home Bargains has opened its fourth store in the Scunthorpe area, having invested £800k in renovating a former Homebase store to meet the needs of the new branch.
The new 26,000 sq ft store opened on May 25th on Lakeside Retail Park.
The opening has created forty jobs for local people.
Homebase closed in January of this year after surviving the chain's first round of closures, announced in August 2018. The intention to close the Scunthorpe store was confirmed in October.
Covering an area of 26,000 sq ft, the branch will offer shoppers a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.
Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: "We’re thrilled to be launching our fourth store in Scunthorpe and look forward to welcoming customers through the doors.
"Lakeside Retail Park will be a great location for us and we’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices."
