Sainsbury's Bank: Home Renovation Calculator
Sainsbury's Bank has developed a new tool for estimating renovation costs.
If you’re considering renovating your house with a bit of a paint refresh or, even going for something more ambitious such as a loft conversion, then it’s useful to know which projects could be more profitable than others.
The calculator is an interactive guide to estimating the cost of renovation works, as well as showing how different work adds to your home.
Sainsbury's bank built the calculator to work most efficiently at house values between £100,000 and £500,000 (the average house value in the UK is £228,147 source, January 2019).
If you have a house that is valued at more than £500,000, then bear in mind that the profit shown in the calculator may be a little more generous than you can expect in reality. We’ve tried to be as accurate as possible, but every renovation project is different and can hit snags along the way that prove to be costly. And when having your house revalued remember that different regions and market fluctuations are going to have a big difference on what the value is from one month to the next. The costs of renovations we have used in the calculator are average costs across the UK.
Take a look at the calulator here.
