Poundland to shut down transactional website
Retail Week has reported that Poundland is winding down the transactional element of its website following an unsuccessful trial period.
Poundland - owned by South African retail giant, Steinhoff - told the publication that it will still have a website but the transactional element will be phased out over the next few months.
Poundland's Trading Director told the publication: “The amount of customers wasn’t that great that were using it [the website] as a proposition and the amount of returning customers wasn’t as high as we would have liked to have seen”
The decision was taken in order to allow Poundland to focus on its core offering, in-store.
