Plank Hardware Launches Its First Brand Campaign
Online home decor retailer, Plank Hardware, launches its first brand campaign on 29th April, motivating its customers to “Get a handle on your home”.
Featuring authentic homeowners from the brand’s online community, the 50” film touches on themes of first-time buying, sticking to a budget, raising kids while renovating and escaping big-city-life. It was shot in three 'work-in-progress' homes in; Chelmsford - Essex, Hastings - East Sussex and Lewisham - South London.
In a bid to document the warts-and-all reality of renovating, Plank collaborated with full service creative agency CC Co. The film is directed by multidisciplinary creative Ben Brook, with photography shot by Manchester-based Jake Miller. The intimate, behind-the-scenes content gives viewers access to the real, far-from-perfect renovation process that is rarely reflected in the curated world of Instagram and Pinterest.
With a mission to inspire creative confidence in a new generation of homeowners and DIYers, these stories explore the highs, lows and “I can’t believe I did that” moments experienced by anyone tackling self initiated home improvement projects.
Launched to coincide with the start of the May/June bank holiday season, Plank seeks to spotlight the get-up-and-go attitude of its fast growing community — 25 to 45 year old homeowners that are willing to roll-up their sleeves and tackle DIY projects head on. The goal is to inspire more customers to take advantage of long weekends, tick-off creative home projects and add quality finishing touches with the help of Plank Hardware products.
Alongside the brand film, Plank Hardware has collaborated with a number of home interior influencers to showcase a series of achievable DIY projects, which will be published across its social channels throughout the month of May. The brand will aptly refer to their social activation as #PlankHolidayWeekends.
Plank Hardware Co-Founder, Annie Aveyard, says: “We’re really proud to launch our first brand campaign, which reflects the attitude we strive to incite within our customers. We want more people to feel confident at giving DIY a go, before calling in help. Given the current long waiting lists for tradespeople, high materials costs and inflated general living expenses, there’s so much that can be done to achieve transformational results within the home — without excessive skills or training needed. Updating hardware details on existing kitchen cabinetry, old furniture pieces and stuffy storage units, is a small tweak that can easily and affordably elevate a space. Next to this, the sense of achievement is unparalleled.”
