CRR: 2024 Retail Job Losses And Store Closures
The Centre for Retail Research has published data pertaining to retail job losses and store closures for 2024, and has made productions for 2025.
According to the data, 13,479 stores have closed and 169,395 retail jobs were lost between January and December 2024. CRR is forecasting a worse outcome for the year ahead, predicting job losses of 201,953 and store closures of 17,349.
The update follows the organisation's 2023 summary which revealed that 10,494 stores were closed and 119,405 retail jobs were lost during the year.
