Online Shoppers Set To Spend £1.08bn This Christmas Day
UK set to spend £1.08bn shopping online on Christmas Day
12 million people set to take a break from festivities to make a purchase
On the most wonderful day of the year, millions of us are set to take a break from festivities to shop online for Christmas bargains, with £1.08bn set to be spent at online retailers.
The VoucherCodes.co.uk Shopping for Christmas 2022 report predicts 12 million people will put down the mince pies and pause prepping the Turkey in order to make a purchase this Christmas Day.
Maureen McDonagh, SVP International & Managing Director at VoucherCodes.co.uk, comments, “In the past, retailers were entirely closed for business on Christmas Day as shops shut their doors until Boxing Day. However, thanks to technology, for online retailers Christmas Day is now a lucrative occasion as excited shoppers head online to spend their Christmas vouchers and take a break from the excitement.
“For online retailers looking to make the most of Christmas Day shoppers, beginning post-Christmas sales on Christmas Day and advertising them across all marketing channels is the best way to maximise profits and get a head start on the post-Christmas sales period.”
