MKM Building Supplies achieves Fast Track 250 listing

Independent builders' merchants, MKM Building Supplies, has been listed in the Sunday Times' Grant Thornton Fast Track 250 for the first time.

The company was placed 201st in this year's listings as a result of a 14% growth in sales and the news follows a £25m refinancing deal MKM agreed with Lloyds Bank last month which will see the company expand the branch network still further across the UK.

The 42 branches stretch from Perth down to Deal in Kent.

Chief Executive David Kilburn said he was delighted the business had been included in the Sunday Times Top Track 250 for the first time as it demonstrated not only how far the business had come since being established in 1995, but gave also an indication of its ongoing progression.

"It is a real achievement to see MKM Building Supplies listed among the top private companies in the UK, particularly before we reach our 20th birthday. The fact that we feature is testament to the hard work of a great many people who help push this company forward on a day-to-day basis.

"With our expansion plans now well and truly in place we expect further growth over the coming years and with that, an accompanying climb up the ranks. Hopefully next year we will break into the top 200."
