John Lewis & Partners is launching its Click & Collect service in six Co-op food stores, it has been announced today (Thursday, 23 May).

The move is part of John Lewis & Partners’ strategy to leverage its supply chain and reach more customers, with the trial giving new and existing customers access to its Next Day Click & Collect service in areas where the John Lewis Partnership has a lower shop presence.

Initially launched for Co-op colleagues in its Manchester Support Centre store, the trial is now to be rolled-out to five further Co-op food stores by the end of the month.

The five further Co-op food stores participating in the trial are located in: the approach to Piccadilly railway station in Manchester; Trent Bridge, Nottingham; Lordship Lane in East Dulwich, London; Westhorne Avenue in Eltham, London and, Hither Green, London.

Eva Cullen, Partner & Head of Customer Fulfilment Operations for John Lewis & Partners said: “Our Click & Collect service is growing in popularity every year as our customers benefit from the ease of being able to pick up their order at a time and place which is convenient to them. We are always looking for new ways to be more convenient for our customers and to reach new customers, and the success of this trial would present the opportunity to roll out the service to more shops.”

Mark Pettigrew, Co-op Director of Innovation and Format, said: “It is all about developing ease, convenience and choice for today’s time-pressed shopper. This is an exciting development. Innovations and new technologies are driving a number of initiatives and creating value in our communities through increased offers and services for our Members and customers.”

Customers will also be able to return orders to these shops.
