Homebase York to close on 4th July

The Homebase store located at the Foss Islands Retail Park in York, has been confirmed as the latest store closure.

In February, owners Wesfarmers announced that it planned to close up to 40 stores and so far, these are the ones we know about:-

Lidl plans to open in Homebase Colchester - 24th April 2018.

Homebase Lincoln faces the Bunnings axe - 9th April 2018.

Permission granted for re-development of Homebase site - 26th March 2018.

Homebase Reading clears stock as it prepares to close - 12th March 2018.

Wesfarmers to close Homebase in Cardiff - 10th February 2018.

The store will close on 4th July 2018 and in the meantime, it is busy selling off all its remaining stock at sale prices.

A spokesperson for Homebase told website YorkMix.com: “We can confirm that our store on Foss Islands Retail Park, York is set to close on 4 July. Our priority now is to continue supporting team members." The company declined to reveal how many staff work at the store, and what their options were. 

Following the closure in July the nearest Homebase stores to York will be at Selby (14 miles), Harrogate (21 miles) and Leeds (24miles).
