Homebase Worle to Close
Homebase has confirmed it intends to close its Worle, Weston-Super-Mare branch.
The store, which is located in the town's Queensway Shopping Centre, has put up signs advising that the business is closing down. The store will close on 20th December.
According to The Weston Mercury, one of the site's owners has applied to the local council to request that the 5,060 sq m Homebase unit is split into a number of smaller units.
KFC, Specsavers and Starbucks are understood to have an interest in the new units and the existing Argos store, which shares the space with Homebase, is set to stay.
Aldi is rumoured to be interested in taking on some of the space.
According to local press, there is 4,000 sq ft of space still available in the unit.
A spokesman for Homebase said: "The affected team members have been informed and have entered into a consultation period."
