Homebase to relocate head office
Wesfarmers has made plans to relocate the Homebase head office, separating it from its former sister company, Argos, which is now owned by Sainsbury’s.
Homebase will move to its new home in Witan Gate House, Milton Keynes, next month. The 55,000 sq ft site is around half a mile from the current base.
Homebase Bunnings MD, Peter Davis, said of the move: “It has always been our intention to stay within the Milton Keynes area and it will be great to have our own offices and continue to work towards building strong foundations for our business.”
Wesfarmers acquired the Homebase business in January, and plans to rebrand the business as Bunnings, in keeping with its DIY trading fascia in Australia.
Last week, Wesfarmers reported on quarterly trading. Homebase sales reached £320m, and customer participation - defined by Wesfarmers as total year on year raw transactions both in-store and on-line, as opposed to value– grew by 8.4%.
