Homebase Reading clears stock as it prepares to close
The Homebase store in Kenavon Drive, Reading has started a huge stock clearance as it prepares to close its doors for the final time on Saturday 17th March.
The store has been sold along with the Toys R Us, following plans approved by Reading Borough Council to turn the retail park into 765 residential homes.
Following the closure of the only other Homebase in Reading (which was replaced by the IKEA in 2015) the nearest Homebase is now located on Wokingham Road, Bracknell, some 10 miles away. It is believed that the B&Q Warehouse at Gate Retail Park is likely to pick up most of the trade.
A spokesperson for Homebase said: "Team members at the store have been informed and we are working to support them as much as possible."
