Homebase Officially Opens First Two Decorate Stores
Homebase, one of the UK's leading home and garden projects retailers, today announces the trial launch of two DECORATE by Homebase stores – one in Cheadle and one in Sutton. Building on Homebase’s strength in decorating, these smaller format high-street stores are located in former Bathstore shop and will provide everything customers need under one roof for decorating projects – from the initial planning stages, to the final finishing touches.
The stores will be dedicated to decorating, providing all the products needed for a decorating project, from the perfect paint colour and brushes, to flooring and tiling, as well as a small selection of homewares and decorating project essentials such as picture frames and hooks.
Colour consultants and interior designers – all trained by the Dulux Academy – will provide technical advice and inspiration, supported by Homebase’s passionate and knowledgeable team, and with all the necessary measures in place to ensure shopping is safe at this time.
The wide range of paint available will include Homebase Paint, as well as ranges from top brands such as Craig & Rose, Dulux, Elle Decoration by Crown Paints, Farrow & Ball, and Rust-Oleum. Customers will be able to use our paint-mixing service to create thousands of bespoke shades as well as choosing the right function for the paint, to ensure it not only looks great, but performs brilliantly too.
Damian McGloughlin, CEO Homebase, said: "We’re always thinking about new store experiences for our customers, to deliver on our vision to make Homebase the go-to place for the inspiration, expertise and products customers need to take their projects from start to finish. We’re extremely excited about this concept. This launch was initially in our plans for March, though we chose to delay opening to ensure we could open our doors safely for customers and our team. We are launching DECORATE by Homebase on a trial basis at this stage, but we see potential to roll this out across more high streets in future.”
Tracey Burke, Cheadle’s DECORATE by Homebase Store Manager said: “I can’t wait to welcome people into store from today – from a distance of course. We have an extraordinary range of products, and incredible experts on-hand, and we’ve taken great care with safety measures to help ensure everyone can shop safely. We’ll limit in-store visitors to up to eight at a time and will have 2-metre distancing guidelines on the floor, as well as a one-way system, plenty of hand sanitiser stations for team ad customers, and Perspex screens at tills.”
