Home Bargains to open in ex-B&Q store
Home Bargains, the family owned discount chain run by TJ Morris, plans to open a new branch in an ex-B&Q store in South Shields on 21st October.
Home Bargains sells a wide range of high street brands from health and beauty products to household goods, home improvement, gardening, food and toys.
The company is about to conduct interviews for the 70 full and part time jobs that are available, ranging from store assistants to managers.
James Licence, from the recruitment department at Home Bargains said: “We are recruiting between 60-70 members of staff with a mixture of full-time and part-time positions. The management positions are full-time while the store assistants range from one day a week up to five days". He added: “The store is scheduled to open on October 21 and at the moment we are conducting interviews for those positions.” Home Bargains is run by family-owned business TJ Morris which was established 40 years by Tom Morris.
Since opening his first store in Liverpool, the company has expanded across the country and now has over 400 stores and employs 17,000 staff. The former B&Q closed its doors to the public in 2016, as part of a plan to close 65 unprofitable stores.
