GROHE Talks Infra-Red Technology On Global Handwashing Day

GROHE Bathroom Home
  • Future-ready bathroom solutions: GROHE offers a holistic, touchless portfolio – from taps to flush plates
  • GROHE Tectron Bau E: A new touchless flushplate joins the GROHE infrared range

Today, 15th October marks Global Handwashing Day, a day that serves to reminds us of the importance of handwashing, which is relevant not only for public places, but also in our private bathrooms at home. When it comes to hand hygiene, the first thing that comes to mind is most likely a tap, but one of the most frequented touchpoints in the bathroom is the toilet – or rather its flush plate. This is where GROHE, one of the leading global brands for complete bathroom solutions and kitchen fittings comes in, offering an entire portfolio of touch-free operated products to create a more comfortable and more hygienic bathroom experience – from taps to flush plates for WCs and urinals. One of GROHE’s most popular products in its infra-red range is the Bau Cosmo E infra-red basin mixer. The Bau Cosmo E offers a sleek, slim design ideal for compact spaces and is packed with GROHE technology such as GROHE EcoJoy for a reduced water flow of 5.7 l/min helping to save precious resources. Offering complete functionality with touchless technology the Bau Cosmo E allows for enhanced hygiene and accessibility for all users.

“More than ever, we are looking for intelligent solutions that add a real value to our daily lives,” says Jonas Brennwald, Leader LIXIL EMENA. “At GROHE, we consider the whole customer journey when developing our human-centric products. That means, to optimise handwashing, one of the first steps is to define the most sensitive contact points in the bathroom and to open up innovative ways for improving these. With our touchless portfolio we take handwashing efficiency and comfort to a whole new level.”

GROHE Tectron Bau E: Enhanced comfort for the daily bathroom routine
Now, a new solution joins the GROHE touchless family: the Tectron Bau E flush plate. The WC flushes automatically when the infrared electronics are activated. This makes the interaction with the new Tectron Bau E extremely convenient and hygienic as no direct contact with the plate is required. By reducing the need for direct interaction with the product, the infrared technology helps prevent unwanted germs or bacteria from being transmitted onto the surface. This special feature also makes it an ideal solution for use in a guest toilet or in semi-public bathrooms like hotels. The flush plate is easy to clean as the touchless operation limits fingerprints – perfect for households with children. Another helpful feature, especially when going on holiday, is the automatic flush to avoid water stagnation after a period of inactivity. Meanwhile, thanks to GROHE EcoJoy technology, effortless water saving is ensured when flushing by using a dual flush which uses 3l for a small flush and 9l for a larger flush, which is automatically determined depending on the duration of use. Tectron Bau E is available in two different colour variants (chrome and white) and is a perfect design match for GROHE’s Bau Ceramic line and can also perfectly accompany the Bau Cosmo E infra-red basin mixer for a completely touchfree experience when using the bathroom. /live/news/wysiwyg/GROHE Tectron Bau E Infra-red electronic for WC flushing cistern_Chrome_ cutout.jpg
