GARDENA To Make Sustainable Display At RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Leading gardening brand, GARDENA, today announces it will have its own sustainable brand trade stand garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022, celebrating four years since the company’s show debut in 2017.

GARDENA has partnered with leading eco-designer and warrior on waste, Lynne Lambourne, to create a completely unique experience for the world’s most famous five-day flower event, this year raising awareness of sustainable practices within gardening and inspiring attendees to reuse the past to style their future.

The display will be located at Stand no. PW246a at the show and comes as GARDENA announces its 2022 ReTh!nk pledge, which is built on the foundation of the three circular R’s: Reduce, Repair, Recycle, and how passionate gardeners can contribute to a healthy ecosystem and conserve more water.

The pledge will feature heavily in the RHS Chelsea Flower Show garden alongside GARDENA’s new EcoLine range of watering products and hand-held tools, all made from at least 65% recycled consumer waste materials without compromising on quality, high durability, attractive design, and ease of use.

Lynne has worked to inspire sustainable interior and garden design for years, winning Grand Designs Live for her room set based on repurposing and sustainability in 2017. She currently runs the Warriors on Waste movement to teach young people to take better care of the planet through upcycling and sustainable living, as well as working as a brand ambassador, promoting sustainability, and coaching companies to be part of the new kinder more planet-conscious economy that she believes in.

Speaking about the garden, Taryn Griesse, in trade marketing manager at GARDENA said: “All eyes will be on the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year as the event returns to its original format post-pandemic, so we thought it was more important than ever to bring something a little different to the show for 2022 and to get UK gardeners rethinking.

“As a business, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do as we make positive steps towards a better planet, so we knew we wanted to bring this to life with the help of Lynne. We have worked collaboratively with Lynne for several years on gardening sustainably, so it’s really special for us to have her on board for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and to work together on this project.”

Talking about the partnership, Lynne Lambourne added: “I believe that being sustainable is not an option that a company chooses to include. It should be an essential part of any business; embraced and implemented thoughtfully.

“The world has changed! Consumers are looking for brands with strong core values that place people and the planet ahead of profit. There is a new and kinder economy emerging and brands have a responsibility not only to make their products more planet-friendly but also to provide information and inspiration for consumers on how to become more sustainable.

“This is why I am delighted to have been asked to design a garden for GARDENA. My dedication to inspiring others to reuse the past to style the future mirrors their ReTh!nk pledge, which is built on the foundation of the circular R’s: Reduce, Repair, Recycle. Together we want to inspire all passionate gardeners to learn about sustainable gardening practices and how gardeners can take control of their gardens to help the climate crisis. It’s time our gardening practices helped the planet come from climate crisis to climate conscious.”

In addition to the garden, GARDENA has been shortlisted for the RHS Chelsea Sustainable Garden Product of the Year 2022 for its AquaBloom and EcoLine product ranges. Designed to be innovative and efficient, the solar-powered AquaBloom automatic watering system does not require a mains water or power supply and can save up to 70% water when compared to standard watering methods. Award winners will be announced to the public on Monday 23 May.
