Dunelm Opens New High Street Store

Dunelm has opened a new-format store, called 'Dunelm Edit'.

The high street store opened on Thursday 28th May in The Martlets Shopping Centre, Crawley; the opening date having been postponed from April 2nd as a result of the coronavirus pandemic which saw all non-essential retailers close on 23rd March.

Dunelm says that the store features its top products and uses interactive digital content to help customers shop, while an interactive artificial reality display helps customers see how items will look in their homes.

The product lines have been selected by Dunelm's designers, and local customers have also had an influence on the store's stock, with some participating in focus groups ahead of the opening.

The store offers three different zones - live, eat and sleep - and a range of inspiring room sets.

Jemma Williams,  Director of Busines Development, said:

“We are excited to open this High Street store and offer our same great product, at the same great prices. We have taken the best of what we do over the past 4o years and listened to what our customers want, to create this smaller format and share what we hope will be welcome Dunelm Highlights on the Crawley High Street.

Many people are excited to visit their local store, but Dunelm also understands that some people may feel uncertain about it, so they have introduced new ways of shopping. There is something for everyone, from contactless deliveries to virtual appointments with a personal shopper or a Made to Measure consultant.”

Dunelm recently began reopening its stores using a phased approach, and all its England and Northern Ireland stores are now open.

A statement on Dunelm's website said: "As part of a careful and gradual process, we slowly opened some of our stores so we could ensure our safety measures were working. We have now fully opened all of our England and Northern Ireland stores. If your local store is open, you will have the added option of claiming your Click & Collect order from our internal collection desk, as well as our external collection point or delivery to car option.

"Please be aware, we are currently restricting numbers allowed into stores to ensure social distancing can be maintained, therefore we are advising no more than two persons per household.

"Please be aware that our Pausa Coffee Shops will remain closed until we feel it's safe to resume operating again."
