Colchester B&Q Site Up For Sale
The Colchester B&Q store site - which is to be taken on by Sainsbury's once it B&Q has relocated to its new home in Stane Retail Park - has been put up for sale for £29,225,000.
Earlier this month, it was reported that B&Q had signed up to a two-year lease extension on the site, despite plans by Sainsbury's to start work on converting the site later this year.
Commercial property company Colliers is marketing the Lightship Way site as a prominent retail investment, describing the site as a purpose-built retail warehouse unit totalling 102,451 sq ft, with c.440 surface car parking spaces. The site covers 8.8 acres in total.
The Colliers document states that the property’s strong location, in close proximity to Hythe Station, large site area and surrounding development also has 'future residential development potential'.
