Bunce's Home Hardware Stores Close
A family-run group of Home Hardware stores in Sussex has closed.
Bunce's Home Hardware's seven stores - Horsham, Lewes, Littlehampton, Steyning, Storrington and two in Worthing - closed on Friday 25th January, with the loss of thirty jobs in total.
The retailer was founded in 1928 and sold a variety of home improvement goods and services.
A sign appeared in the window of the Storrington store on Monday 21st January announcing it had closed and further signs were posted in the Littlehampton and Worthing stores during the following week.
FRP Advisory LLP partner, Ian Vickers, told local press:
“Bunce’s Home Hardware has been in operation for almost a century, with a stellar reputation for providing quality goods.
“Unfortunately, the company has run into cashflow difficulties resulting in it having to close all seven stores.
“We are now focused on providing support to employees and stakeholders impacted by the closures and seeking to maximise returns for creditors.”
