B&Q Strood to close doors for the last time
The B&Q store in Strood, which has been on the site for more than 30 years will close its doors for the last time on Saturday 9th January, ahead of plans to open three smaller units, a cafe and a 24-hour gym.
The development of Strood Retail Park will see the Commercial Road slip road removed and improvements will be made to pedestrian access.
Heidi Reynolds, B&Q divisional director, was quoted as saying: “B&Q is committed to our customers in Kent and we will be sorry to move our business from the Strood store after 30 years of successful trading. We look forward to welcoming our Strood customers to our Gillingham and other local stores.”
