B&Q relaunches diy.com
B&Q, the UK’s largest home improvement omnichannel retailer, announces the launch of the most comprehensively stocked and most functionally advanced website of its kind in the UK.
The high performance website is designed for easy access optimised for all devices, mobile, tablet or fixed and is the result of more than £60 million investment by B&Q. The new diy.com website offers the home improvement retailer’s best ever online shopping experience to make it simpler for customers to find what they want for their homes rapidly and easily both on line or for visits to their nearest B&Q store.
diy.com is built on intelligent design to support a stream of innovations that will be launched throughout next year, facilitating the continual evolution of B&Q’s online capability.
Attracting over 3.5 million visitors a week – with over half using mobile access, the new diy.com website offers an unrivalled range of over 40,000 home improvement products; by far the most extensive range of home improvement items available for home delivery from any omnichannel retailer in the UK.
B&Q is also launching a new Click & Collect service to replace the old website’s Reserve & Collect service. The new enhanced service allows customers greater freedom to purchase products online and to collect them next day from one of B&Qs 360 stores nationwide. Order collection points are clearly marked in-store to maximize convenience and complete the ‘hassle-free’ shopping experience.
The new website also presents a wide range of useful content to inspire and help customers throughout their home improvement journey, from browsing and shopping to completing their home improvements.
Together, the new diy.com – the UKs biggest category specific home improvement website, and B&Qs 360 stores – the second largest retail presence in the UK, represent the perfect marriage of online and in store shopping.
Mike Durbridge, Director of Omnichannel at B&Q said: “We’re investing over £60 million in developing B&Qs internet platform to make it really easy for customers to get everything they need, easily and conveniently, for their home improvement projects.
“diy.com is the biggest category specific home improvement website in the UK. The new site now offers our 3.5 million visitors an unrivalled range of home improvement products, is more easily accessible for mobile users, is an amazing source of inspiration and advice, and in the coming year, lots more innovative content and services will be added.
“The new Click & Collect service means customers now have even more choice and convenience in how to shop whether they’re on the move, at home, or in store – and a choice of home delivery or collection from store.”
