B&Q makes significant changes to Diamond Card offer
B&Q has today (2 August 2018) announced updates to its Diamond Card scheme as part of its wider strategy to simplify pricing. It has advised Diamond Card customers, that as of 3 September, they will get 10% discount on Wednesdays in store on over 10,000 gardening products only, to take away on the day. Registered Diamond Card customers will also continue to receive email vouchers, giving up to 10% savings next time they visit on any day of the week.
The change recognises that around half of Diamond Card customers spend money at B&Q across the week, not just on Wednesday, and that the favourite products for Diamond Card customers are those for gardening.
In addition, B&Q will no longer accept new registrations for its Diamond Card from 3 September 2018.
B&Q Diamond Card customers, along with all B&Q customers, now have the benefit of over 2,000 new low prices as well as stable, low prices on all new products, to help make their home improvement projects more affordable.
Paul White, Trading Director, B&Q, commented:
“Customers of all ages want to have prices they can trust, and as industry leaders it’s our responsibility to look after their best interests by ensuring our customers get our most competitive price. That’s why we’re simplifying our pricing – reducing the number of deals and reviewing our loyalty benefits – to make our prices clear, transparent and trusted.
“Changes announced today for our Diamond Card customers mean they’ll not only benefit from our new stable, low prices, they’ll continue to get 10% discount on their favourite products – those for gardening – on Wednesdays in store.
“Anyone over-60 who joins our B&Q Club scheme after 3 September 2018 won’t miss out; they’ll get the same benefits as other B&Q Club members, including rewards when they shop. This means all our customers can feel confident in the knowledge that they will always enjoy competitively priced products at B&Q on any day of the week.”
On 11 July, as part of its commitment to simplifying its pricing and making its prices clear, transparent and trusted, B&Q announced that it’s been investing over £100million this year in lowering prices for all its customers. This included reviewing weekend deals, multi-buys and loyalty club benefits.
The 10% discount for gardening products on Wednesdays in store on items to take away on the day will cover over 10,000 gardening products including; plants and seeds, garden hand and power tools, compost, plant feeds, fertilisers and pest controls, hoses and watering accessories, plant pots and garden ornaments, garden furniture and BBQs.
