Bolton Homebase Store To Close

A Bolton Homebase store is set to close and be replaced by a discount retailer.
The Homebase store in Middlebrook Retail Park, Horwich, had applied to the local council to split its existing 33,260 sq ft unit into two but has since confirmed that it will close completely.
A new Home Bargains store is to open within the unit in early 2020, creating between 60 and 80 jobs, according to local press. It will be the sixth Home Bargains branch in the area and will feature a garden centre.
Mark Hanna, senior retail leasing surveyor at Orbit Developments, which owns and operates the retail park, said: “Middlebrook shoppers have been asking us for a retailer like Home Bargains on the park so we’re delighted to have received planning permission for this new store.”
