Black Friday - The Insight DIY overview

Black Friday is here again and on a weekend when UK consumers are expected to spend more than £7.8 billion, we thought we’d take a closer look at which of our Home Improvement and Garden retailers are taking part and which offers they’re focusing on to drive both in-store and on-line footfall.

Here’s the Insight DIY summary:-

B&Q

The Black Friday event runs from Friday 23rd to Sunday 26th November and includes Karcher pressure washers & window vac, Stanley Fatmax tool bag, DeWalt 18v combi-drill, Hive active heating thermostats, the Flymo cordless robotic lawnmower and garage/garden storage products. The Karcher K2 pressure washer is selling at £45 (was £69) and the Karcher WV Classic Window Vac is £35 (was £60).

B&Q Black Friday deals

Homebase

No mention of Black Friday, as they concentrate on their Christmas seasonal offers, price reductions on Ryobi power drills and Karcher pressure washers. The K4 full control is being sold at £140 (was £197), the K2 pressure washer £79.95 and the Karcher WV2 Plus Window Vacuum is £49.97. Other offers include free Hotpoint appliances when you buy a kitchen and a specific ‘Spend over £100 on a Ryobi One+ kit in-store and claim a free Ryobi One+ tool from www.ryobitools.co.uk/christmas website.

Wickes

Black Friday headline offer is 15% off when you spend over £75 on click’n’collect orders – offer ends Tuesday 5th December. Other offers include up to 30% off selected power tools, 10% off selected ladders, 20% off Hive (online only) and £30 off the Karcher K4 pressure washers. The Karcher K2 pressure washer is £79.99.

Selco Builders Warehouse

Black Friday deals run from 24th November to 3rd December and include a combination of in-store and on-line exclusives. The on-line offers included four drills (Bosch and Milwaukee 18v Combi’s and an Einhell and Milwaukee hammer drill), three of which were sold out by 10am this morning.

Are running a 5 day 'Price Crash' between 23rd and 27th November, including a wide range of offers on Dial, Titan, DeWalt power tools, hand tools and lighting. Didn't see any specific headline offers, other than their Deal of the Day Karcher WV2 Plus Cordless Window Vacuum for £39.99 (was £69.99).

They're also running 5 days of deals, ending 27th November, including Milwaukee cordless drills and impact wrench, some hand tools and a triple pack of Gorilla Glue (Merry Christmas Dad!).

Wyevale Garden Centres

No mention of Black Friday, with offers focused on Christmas seasonal and the option to download a ‘Save £4 when you spend over £20 in store’, valid until 29th November and not available to use on-line.

Robert Dyas

A week of Black Friday deals including a 15% off everything voucher that can be used in-store and on-line between 24th and 27th November. The Black Friday deals claim up to 60% off products including small electricals, kitchenware, home, lighting and small number of DIY products including an 18v cordless Black & Decker drill and 32 piece accessories set for £69.99, original price £119.99.

ManoMano

Black Friday event running from today through to Monday, including up to 40% off wallpaper, security door systems, an electric safe and Christmas seasonal lines.

Black Friday by ManoMano

Discounters & Generalists

Argos, B&M Bargains, The Range and Wilko are all focusing on non-DIY related lines, including Christmas seasonal, home, toys, perfume and small electricals.
