Argos begins to close its Homebase concessions
An Argos Digital store inside Homebase on Winchester Road, Basingstoke will be closing this Saturday only a year after it opened.
The outlet, launched as a “paperless” store, with tables of tablet computers replacing the traditional catalogues, paper slips and pencils, opened in the Basingstoke branch of Homebase in August 2015.
Despite the closure of this Argos branch, the catalogue retailer will still operate from its outlets at Hatch Warren Retail Park and in The Malls.
A spokesman for Argos said: "The Argos digital in Homebase on Winchester Road, Basingstoke will not open after Saturday, September 3".
"All colleagues based there have been found alternative roles in nearby Argos stores."
