April Opening Announced For The Range In Greenock
The Greenock Telegraph has reported the opening date for a new The Range store in Greenock.
Friday, April 10th - Good Friday - will be the opening day for the new store, which is located in the town's former Homebase unit.
In November 2019, The Range confirmed it was looking to open in the West Shaw Street site, but did not give further details.
In December 2019, The Range revealed that the Homebase unit - which had lain empty since December 2018 - was to undergo a programme of refurbishments ahead of the opening.
A spokeswoman for The Range told The Greenock Telegraph: "We actually only got confirmation today of the opening date...for our new Greenock store.
"We are happy to share this good news with the Telegraph's readers first.
"Our new venture is planned to begin trading at 9am on Good Friday, 10 April."
The store will offer an Iceland food concession, a cafe, and a garden centre, and approximately 80 jobs will be created.
The Range's founder and CEO, Chris Dawson, said: "After an exciting year of store openings, we are really looking forward to growing the business further with many more new stores in 2020.
"It's fantastic that we have been able to transform the former Homebase in Greenock into another national retailer and add yet another branch to our expanding Scottish portfolio.
"We expect the job provision that comes with the new store to be a great boost to the Inverclyde area."
The Greenock store will be The Range's 15th branch in Scotland.
