Andy Street steps down as MD of John Lewis
Andy Street, MD of John Lewis, is to step down from his post having been chosen to represent the Conservative party in next year’s West Midlands mayoral race.
The announcement follows:
The John Lewis Partnership today announces that Andy Street will step down as Managing Director, John Lewis on 28 October. After a 31 year career with the Partnership, including nine years as Managing Director, John Lewis, it was confirmed last night that Andy has been selected as the official Conservative Party candidate for the office of Mayor of the West Midlands.
The successor to the position of Managing Director will be announced in due course.
Sir Charlie Mayfield, Chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, said: 'Andy has led John Lewis brilliantly and leaves the brand with great momentum for the future. I would like to thank him for his passionate contribution to the Partnership.'
