Andy Martin to join the John Lewis Partnership Board
The John Lewis Partnership today announced the appointment of Andy Martin as a Non-Executive Director of the Partnership Board and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.
Andy succeeds Baroness Sarah Hogg who joined the Partnership Board in 2011 and whose term of office ended on 30 June 2018. Andy brings a wealth of experience having worked as a Chartered Accountant and was until 2015, Group Chief Operating Officer, Europe and Japan, for Compass Group plc, having previously been their Group Finance Director from 2004 to 2012. Before joining Compass Group, Andy was Group Finance Director at First Choice Holidays plc and prior to that held a number of senior finance roles at Granada Group plc.
Since 2011, Andy has been a Non-Executive Director of easyJet plc, chairing their Finance Committee, and in 2016 became a Non-Executive Director at Intertek Group plc and Chair of their Audit Committee and Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of global specialist recruitment company, Hays plc in 2017.
Sir Charlie Mayfield, Chairman of John Lewis Partnership, said: 'I am incredibly pleased that Andy will be joining the Partnership Board. Andy's wealth of business and financial experience will complement the strength of the Board and we are looking forward to his input in shaping the continued development of our It's Your Business 2028 strategy. I would also like to personally thank Baroness Hogg for the valuable contribution she has made to the Partnership over the past seven years.'
The Partnership Board has three Non-Executive Directors who are chosen because of their independence, external business experience and the different perspective they bring. Andy now joins Keith Williams who is also Deputy Chairman of the Partnership Board and Laura Wade-Gery. To preserve their independence they do not form part of the executive management team and they are not Partners.
