8th Global DIY-Summit Postponed
The organisers of the Global DIY Summit have confirmed that this year's event has been cancelled in a message sent to interested parties:
We have continued to closely monitor the Covid-19 situation and assess whether the Global DIY-Summit 2021 can take place.
Until recently we were confident that the situation would improve enough to allow us to deliver the event to the high standards that are expected and bring together the international home improvement community.
While EU Authorities implement the highest levels of medical measures and hygiene protocols for travels and considering the mutations of the virus present in all corners of the world, we feel that the delivery of a world-class international event will be inevitably impacted by such travel restrictions and the persistently high numbers of covid-19 cases.
With this in mind, and following close consultation with our event partners, key stakeholders and hosts, we have taken the decision to postpone the 8th Global DIY-Summit to protect the health of all delegates and sponsors taking part in our event. Further information about the new date for the event will be available in the coming weeks.
By opting to defer the event to a later date we believe that we will be in the best position to deliver the Global DIY-Summit at full capacity, offering our event partners and participants the value and international exposure that they have come to expect from us.
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic the Global DIY-Summit launched the Global DIYNetwork in October 2020. The Global DIY-Network is a global virtual platform which brings together all stakeholders in the home improvement industry and gives delegates the opportunity to network and share best practices throughout the year.
For the last 11 years, the Global DIY-Summit has been the world’s major event for retailers and manufacturers from the home improvement and garden centre industry. This congress is jointly organized by the leading non-profit home improvement organisations: EDRA (European DIY-Retail Association) HIMA (Home Improvement Manufacturers Association) and GHIN (Global Home Improvement Network), all together representing over 1500 companies throughout the world.
In order to continue offering this important event for our industry all tickets and sponsorships for the Global DIY-Summit 2021 will automatically be valid for the rescheduled event. This way all of our delegates and partners will not be affected by this decision and will enjoy the full service at a later date, once the situation allows international events to take place.
We are convinced that with the joint efforts of organizers, delegates and sponsors we will be able to overcome this regretfully ongoing situation, continue to evolve, and be in the best position to deliver the most anticipated edition of the Global DIY-Summit in the near future.
