2022 Retail Job Losses Exceed 24,500

The Centre for Retail Research has published data pertaining to retail job losses and store closures to the end of August 2022.

The update follows the organisation's June 2022 update, and the 2021 summary, published in January 2022, which revealed that 2021 retail job losses reached 105,727, with store closures of 11,459.

To the end of August 2022, a total of 2,067 stores have closed, with job losses reaching 24,504.

All data tables are from the Centre for Retail Research.
